The Society manages the current Seniors Village, pays for renting the Mansons Hall to allow for seniors’ activities and meetings, sends out a monthly newsletter with seniors' related news, organizes some island-wide events, works closely with Better at Home and other seniors’ programs providers, and more. To find more information about our programs and activities, check this

Call for volunteersWe now have only seven board members. We are looking for two or three new directors. Can you volunteer your time? Do you know someone who can join the board?
At Cortes Day and Sandcastle Day, we always need people to make salads, or pies, or help to sell them.
Can you offer some help with our regular summer events?
If this appeals to you, let Carolyn Howson know by phoning 935-0281.

The Compassionate Community Project is now seeking to hire a Volunteer Coordinator, as per this
Tideline Post of May 17. The Volunteer Coordinator will match trained volunteers with those in the community who would like companionship and support, and are experiencing a serious illness, caregiving, isolation, dying, or grieving.
Our regular monthly meetings will resume in the fall. If you have any death-related questions or needs, please don’t hesitate to contact us, even on short notice: Margaret 250-204-3709 or Emma 250-208-4468.
