A compassionate community is one where people come together to improve the quality of life for those affected by life-limiting illnesses, grief, isolation, and caregiving.
Using a seed grant from the BC Centre for Palliative Care, the Compassionate Communities Project is seeking to hire someone to assist and oversee a group of trained volunteers offering regular, one-on-one companionship with members of the community needing support.
The job involves 10 flexible hours a month at $30/hr, beginning as soon as the position is filled and ending December 31, 2023.
The ideal candidate would be compassionate, reliable, organized, and have strong interpersonal skills and basic computer fluency. Proficiency in conflict management, diplomacy, and problem-solving are an asset. A committed and knowledgeable team will be available to guide and support.
