On the morning of March 1st, Doug had a stroke which affected his vision and motor skills. After stumbling around a bit and realizing that this was more than his usual "I need my morning coffee!", he knew there was something seriously wrong. He called a close friend for help.
Soon an ambulance and helicopter ride were arranged and he was rushed to the North Island hospital in Campbell River. There he was diagnosed with having had a stroke in his right brain.The good news is that Doug is progressively getting better; he is now able to walk with a couple of canes. However, we estimate that it may take Doug as long as a year to be able to resume generating a regular income.In the time it will take him to heal, he will need an income, and here is where we all can help out; a fundraiser is put up to help with the costs:
