Christine
A new calendar year is upon us and the Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island Society (FTCCIS) expects tangible progress towards purchase. Thank you to those who supported our fundraising through Giving Tuesday 2022 with our growing Children’s Forest community.

We have an exciting AGM planned for you on Saturday, January 28, 4:00 pm. We are most pleased to have Dr. Suzanne Simard as our guest speaker. Dr Simard is a Scientist, Author (‘Finding the Mother Tree – Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest’) and UBC Professor of Forest Ecology. She will present insight into her work on the Mother Tree project and speak to the value of the Children's Forest.

Additionally, there will be a panel discussion with Dr. Simard & forestry students, alumni, and acclaimed surprise guests. What a bonus!

We appreciate the value of in-person meetings but due to the dispersed geographic locations of the key speakers, including Dr. Simard from Nelson, we will be hosting a zoom AGM with further details to be posted closer to January 28.

We look forward to hosting this special AGM and sharing 2022 updates and 2023 expectations.

“Imagine ... a Forest in Trust to the Children!”
