General News · 29th November 2022
Maureen and Melanie Williams
While Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the biggest shopping days of the year, Giving Tuesday on November 29th marks something greater. It’s a global movement to inspire and challenge us to do better for each other and the planet through acts of generosity.

Please donate to the Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island Society this Giving Tuesday and help us reach our fundraising goal of $10,000.

Now your gift will go even further because of the radical generosity of an anonymous champion who has offered to match up to $5000 of donations!

All of the funds we receive will be used to cover costs associated with the next crucial steps in negotiating an agreement for the purchase of the Children's Forest, so it can be protected against logging and held in trust for all the children of Cortes Island in perpetuity.

And here's another way your generosity can grow:
To honour the 10-year anniversary of Giving Tuesday, CanadaHelps—the organization that helps small Canadian non-profits like the ours raise the funds they need to make the world better—is offering a chance to win a $5000 charity gift card when you make your Giving Tuesday donation. And you don’t have to wait until Tuesday to be entered in the draw. Just make your donation to Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island Society any time between now and Tuesday and you will automatically be entered. If you win, you can use your gift card to make more donations to CanadaHelps charities, including ours!
