Where: The Old Schoolhouse Gallery
When: 4 Fridays. 2-5 pm, beginning Nov. 18
OR 4 Saturdays, 10am – 1pm, beginning Nov. 19.
OR by a video recording of each opening critique and demonstration
Cost: $40.00 per in-person session
30.00 per video recording
Class size: maximum 8 people in person in the gallery
Schedule (times approx to show range of activities):
Opening critique (30 minutes)
Demonstration (40 minutes)
Presentation of home study projects (10 minutes)
Break (10 minutes)
Class work with individual critiques (50 minutes)
Group critique of class work, plus review of home study (40 minutes)
Materials: materials list recommended by Kristen, purchased by student
WHY FLOWERS (and a few vegetables)?
Flowers offer excellent choices of surface variety and texture, colour mixing and layering,
structural complexity and types of symmetry. Besides, painting flowers is a political act in solidarity with your Grandmothers. More about the history of botanical painting in class.
