The Cortes Island Academy has one or two students joining the program mid-way, and we are looking for short-term homestays for up to two students.  These short-term periods include the four weeks from now to December 16 and/or from January 3 to February 1.

Homestay students are part of family life, contribute towards meals and chores, and prepare their own breakfasts and lunches.

The Homestay family provides a welcoming home, parental supervision, a private room, wifi connection, and three healthy meals, plus snacks each day. There are several homestay families on Cortes Island providing mutual support to eachother, and use a team based approach.

Reimbursements for hosting a student are $700 for a part-time student (they go home most weekends), and $900 per month for full-time students (students only go home for official school breaks such as Christmas).

For those of you who are unfamiliar, the Cortes Island Academy is an experiential, place-based high school program in partnership with School District 72. You can learn more about it by following this link: https://cortesislandacademy.ca/.

If you are interested in hosting a Homestay student in your household, please contact the program at infocortesislandacademy.ca.

Thank you for supporting the Cortes Island Academy!
