We are excited Laurence Cole is coming to Cortes to facilitate a grief tending ritual. He came in Nov 2019 and it was a big experience for many of us, and one that continues to affect how we choose to live. His ability to create a safe space that invites participation and helps us connect with ourselves and other humans is transformative. He has written beautiful songs shared in many communities, which are sung throughout the weekend. More information at Laurence Cole Grief Tending in Community Workshop - Sing for Joy.
From the website:
In many traditional cultures throughout the world, tending grief collectively was often the “glue” that held communities together. It was understood that sharing our grief in a communal setting, through compassionate presence and mutual support, can lead to a renewed sense of connection, belonging, and even radiant joy.
We are grateful to Hollyhock for providing their Lodge for the workshop. The schedule is:
Friday from 7:30 – 9:00 pm, Community Sing Along, open to everyone
Saturday from 10:00 am – 10:00 pm, Workshop
Sunday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, Workshop
Cost for the workshop is $140 if registered before Nov 18, $180 afterward, e-transfers or cash please. Community Sing-Along is $10 cash unless you are registered for the weekend.
