I am writing you as Cortes Island's new Regional Director. I feel hopeful for the progress we can make in the next four years and gratitude for your support in getting me here. Your encouraging words, creative ideas, and willingness to work across difference inspires me.

Three of the four rural Regional Directors have changed in this election presenting us with a new opportunity to make progress. I have meetings planned this week with my fellow Regional Directors and the Klahoose Interim Chief, Steven Brown, and will be working for a new era of cooperation and action on the issues impacting our beautiful island.

Cortes is a unique place with so many talented and knowledgeable people. I believe deeply in our ability to work together and be an example for bold collaborative leadership in the region and the province.

Over the last few months you've made it clear that you want action on housing, climate change and ecosystem protection, parks & recreation, land use planning, sustainable business development, and truth and reconciliation. I hear you and am excited to get to work.
