Cortes Island Museum invites you to the Worldwide Spin in Public Day, with event on Cortes Island on Saturday, September 17, from 10 am to 2 pm, in the Museum's Heritage Garden.

This worldwide event, created to share the art of spinning fibre into yarn, happens every year on the third Saturday in September.

Join us in the Heritage Garden at the Cortes Museum to celebrate the brilliant art of spinning fibre into yarn, learn, try it out, ask questions or just come and observe an art form that has been around for centuries.

You will view a range of different techniques, from drop spindle to spinning wheel, drum carding raw fibre, knitting, and so much more! We will have extra wheels for folks to try, yarn for sale, treats and beverages.

Feel free to bring your yarn to knit, your spinning wheel, fibre to card, yarn, and equipment you have for sale!!!
