There are places in Whaletown that are postcard picture perfect. One of these is the Old School House with the 2 fir trees against it, at the corner.
Now it is time to re-imagine the picture on the postcard. The 2 fir trees are undermining the foundation and will come down in the near future.
What trees or shrubbery do we grow in the area to create a perfect postcard picture?

The Whaletown Community Club membership will create the image of that perfect postcard at the May 4th general meeting at the Gorge Hall from 7 pm to 8pm.
At that meeting the membership will also create a new landmark in the Gorge Hall parking lot, another perfect postcard picture.

The twin cedar trees by the ramp to the post office are dead and present an increasing hazard.
The board decided that we will leave standing 10 feet of each trunk and that we will ask the membership what to do with these remaining trunks.
Do we commission a sculptor to carve a couple of whales, or mermaids :)? Some suggested leveling the trunks at table height and topping them with a slab to hold coffee and parcels while we gab at mail time.
The membership will decide at the general meeting May 4th at the Gorge Hall 7pm to 8pm
When you go to the mail next, imagine what you would like to see there, you have two big cedar trunks 10 feet tall to play with.
See you at the meeting
