GinaT CIMAS
The Cortes Island Museum & Archives (CIMAS) is seeking an inventive, self-directed and organized individual to serve as the Programs & Events Coordinator at the Cortes Museum and Wild Cortes. The Programs & Events Coordinator is responsible for designing, organizing and ensuring delivery of public events and programs.

This is a 60hrs/month, minimum five month contract position, with possible extension. Specific hours are dictated by program needs, some flexibility is required; evening and weekend work will occasionally be necessary. Starting wage is $22/hr. Must have secure housing in place. Position starts in May 2022.

Work Expectations:
In collaboration with the CIMAS team, the Programs & Events Coordinator will:
• Create and coordinate CIMAS outreach activities and events which foster a sense of involvement with and excitement about the Museum and Wild Cortes
• Work closely with the Managing Director and curators to contribute ideas and extensions to the exhibit experience
• Reach out to and engage new audiences
• Manage event volunteers
• Be well connected with communities on Cortes and develop programs and events with that diversity in mind
• Effectively promote programs to the community

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
The ideal candidate will:
• Have experience in designing, supervising and budgeting programs and events
• Be able to develop age-appropriate programs, activities and materials
• Work as a team member
• Have strong computer and social media skills
• Be able to work with a wide range of individuals
• Have access to a vehicle if required
