“V is for voice … our very valuable voice in speaking for the forest - vital, vigilant and victorious.”

The Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island Society opened its 2021 virtual AGM on January 29 with an inspiring presentation by 11 alumni from the book, 'Forest Alphabet - Artistic Visions of a Forest in Trust to the Children'. The alumni called in from Vancouver, Victoria, Winnipeg, Ontario and even Cortes, and spoke about then and now - how their involvement twelve years ago in the Children’s Forest was and is a dynamic, influential force in their lives. There were few dry eyes amongst listeners as these young Cortes adults spoke about the importance of protection of the Children’s Forest. The presentation was woven together by the witty wisdom of Andy Mackinnon, a retired forest ecologist, co-author of ‘Plants of Coastal British Columbia’ and author of ‘Mushrooms of British Columbia’. Do you recognize any of these young adults?
Here is a link to that recording

Attached are the Chair and Youth Reports that followed in the AGM.
