As you may have already noticed, newts are now crossing the roads, heading from the forests to their spring breeding grounds.
Yellow and black 'Newt X-ing' signs are mounted in areas considered 'hotspots' of larger newt migrations, close to wetlands. However, newts can be spotted all around the island, and newt crossings can be up to 1km long.
Please drive carefully and do your best to avoid running over the newts -- they look like small upturned leaves, or twigs on the roads.

FOCI's Newt X-ing Project.Thank you for looking out for the newts!
