Connection to our community:
For the past three years, a group of us on Cortes have been learning and singing Gaelic laments and puirt a beul with an international group led by the wonderful Sine McKenna, from Glengarry County. One of our songmates has family in Nigeria who are desperately trying to flee drought, food shortages, and the violence of impending civil war. They have asked for our help in raising the funds needed for the emigration process, as well as ongoing support with basic needs and medical emergencies. More information about the family is available on the Eventbrite page.
