Hello Cortes,

I’m sharing a request from the heart, to ask for your generous donations to help keep our CCHA Youth Programs running through the winter.

We were able to offer some amazing opportunities to youth this summer of 2021, after so many of them were so starved for fun, connected adventurous activities due to pandemic closures and cancellations.

We partnered with Cortes Kayaks and sent a whole bunch of Cortes Island youth on overnight kayaking trips to Shark Spit!

We also partnered with the FolkU Microgrants program to empower youth to realize some great community projects, and kids have played soooo many fun soccer, ultimate and action games with our Sports program.

One large increase in our programming expenses has been that, in order to be able to continue to offer the Youth Programs safely throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we moved them outdoors, and that has required extra facilitation to ensure a safe and supported outdoor experience. This significantly increased our facilitation expenses.

However, our funding appeals to various foundations and public and private donors have been unsuccessful this year, and while we have promising leads for 2022, we are struggling to keep up with our costs through till the end of 2021.

We are entirely funded by grants and donations, as we do not charge for our programs. We feel this is so important to make sure our programs are accessible to all children and youth of Cortes Island.

Please consider making a donation to support the CCHA Youth Programs this winter – it will go a long way to bringing connection and wellness to the youth of Cortes Island.
