to be natural history guides

Please join us on November 7 for our monthly walk through the Children’s Forest. Scattered clues of spawning salmon were spotted in James Creek a few days ago, so we are hoping for extra eyes & ears to help with fish detective work. We will be looking for live or dead chum, or carcasses left after spawning & predation.

We leave from the Children’s Forest trailhead on Carrington Bay Road at 10:00 am and will return around 2:00 – 3:00 pm, with flexibility for children’s stamina. Time falls back early Sunday morning, so this will feel like 11:00 am.

The puddles along the way are famous for swallowing up children, so do wear rubber boots and dress for the weather. Bring a lunch, a hot drink & raingear, and an extra dose of adventuring spirit and curiosity!
Parents, this is your chance to unload extra Halloween candy. Dogs on leash, please.
