There were lots of ideas generated last night at the Virtual Community Café for the Village Commons!
If you missed it, there are other opportunities to share, including the virtual bulletin board. Already posted are photos of mobile pop-up retail units, a sketch of a site map, and event buildings we might like to see here from other commons-areas (like on Gabriola Island).
View these, and share your ideas, from the comfort of your home or phone! Please go to this link to access the virtual bulletin board:

You may also share your ideas in person at our
Community Workshop, coming up on Sunday, November 14th from 4-7pm Manson’s Hall.A maximum of 40 attendees may participate at this workshop in accordance with current Island Health Public Health Orders. Masks will be required to be worn throughout the workshop. This workshop will start with a walk on the land, so please wear comfortable/weather appropriate footwear and gear.
Other opportunities to share ideas include “Sounding Boards" - placed at various locations on the island (such as the stores and post offices). These are simply large posters that anyone passing by is encouraged to scribble down their ideas for the site in the boxes provided.
Hard-copy Site Maps for sketching are also available outside the Manson's post office for you sketch up your own dream plan for the land.
