Please be advised that the MV Tachek will resume service with the 1:05 pm departure from Heriot Bay (Quadra Island).

16/10 am
The Quadra Queen II will leave Denman Island this morning to transit to the route and begin operations, weather permitting, with the 1350 sailing leaving Whaletown. Depending on the extent of repairs required, the Tachek will either hold in Heriot Bay or be relocated to Buckley Bay or Denman Island to finish.
The Quadra Queen II will remain on the route until the repairs are completed.
Service Notices and terminal signage will be updated accordingly.

The vessel is experiencing a problem with its main engine. All service is suspended at the moment. A technician is flying out this afternoon (weather permitting) to undertake further investigation.
In the meantime, BC Ferries is making plans to redeploy the Quadra Queen II starting with service tomorrow morning if repairs will take longer to complete.
This is weather dependent since storms are building which will prevent the vessel from sailing in any event.
The team is exploring water taxi options, but those too are subject to weather limitations as you will know from experience!
BC Ferries doesn't have anything more concrete to share at this time, but realize there is likely some anxiety building and want everyone to know we are working on it from many angles. We will share more as we learn more.
