Phase 3 of the Whaletown Post Office Renovation will begin on Thursday October 14th. Our goal is to insulate the building and put up drywall and wainscoting from Thursday 14th thru Sunday the 17th. If you have drywall mudding skills and interest in helping out, please let me know.

I am hoping box holders will make an extra effort to pick up your parcels on/by Wednesday the 13th and Friday the 15th, so we have less stuff to move around while we do the walls in the back. On Friday the 15th, depending on where the reno is at, there may not be public access to the customer area, and I will give you your mail and parcels from the side door.

The customer area will have drywall and wainscoting made from t&g hemlock from the Community Forest donated by Ellingsen Woods. We are hopeful that the wainscoting will help keep the rustic country esthetic going. Thanks to Ellingsen Woods!

This renovation is possible because of the generosity of community members who have donated money, materials and labour to complete the work. Phase 1 was moving, Phase 2 - installing the new boxes, and now Phase 3 - insulation and drywall. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed. I'm hopeful that the people working at the Whaletown Post Office will have much more comfortable winters, and that there will also be more space for the increasing parcel volume.
