I don't know if you have heard about Lisa Gibbons but she needs all the help she can get from our amazing community and October is almost upon us:

Lisa's reboot! A stem cell story.
Our luminous Lisa has now completed close to a year of cancer treatment. She and her family have felt so incredibly grateful to their community and ongoing support system of helpers and caregivers for their tireless efforts helping her through this difficult time.

Lisa is now preparing for the next stage in her healing journey, combatting the aggressive form of lymphoma with a Stem Cell Bone Marrow Transplant in October and November 2021.

We want to help raise funds for this medical procedure, which requires six to eight weeks in Vancouver, with hospital stays up to 4 weeks. Funding will be needed for travel, 24 hour caregivers, accommodation for herself and caregivers, a nutrition program, treatments not covered by her BC medical insurance, as well as a long term recovery plan.

She is confident these treatments will restore her vibrant self as this highly effective procedure can extinguish cancer cells while replenishing blood cells and regenerating bone marrow, essentially growing Lisa's immune system back from scratch. Luckily Vancouver has a cutting edge bone marrow transplant facility at VGH. Lisa has already started visiting the program for testing and has upcoming appointments.

Lisa is positive and strong, with a warrior's mentality, and she will need love and support to get through the year long recovery process from this important step.
