Thanks to the Firesmart Economic Recovery Grant awarded to the SRD, there is no registration fee for Cortes youth.
Emergency First Aid is a WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level 1 equivalent and can be used in the workplace. Using hands-on training and practice, this basic first aid course will give you confidence to respond effectively in an emergency. You will learn lifesaving skills such as CPR/AED, obstructed airway procedures and emergency response. You will learn to recognize and respond to respiratory and circulatory emergencies including asthma, allergic reactions, heart attack, stroke and bleeding.
Requirements: 100% attendance is required along with one piece of valid ID. Candidates are required to produce one piece of acceptable, valid, photographic identification at the time of the course. Valid ID includes: CDN or US driver's license, valid passport, Valid BC Student ID issued for the current school year, Employee picture id card, Native status id card, BC photo id issued after Nov. 1996, or Canadian government-issued photo id.
Evaluation: practical situations and written evaluation (25 MCQ assessment, min 70% passing grade or 18/25)
Communicable Disease ProtocolsWearing a mask is required in all indoor public spaces for people age 12+.
