This workshop will focus on, focusing on the wetland restoration project taking place in Dillon Creek. A mix of local knowledge keepers, land managers and other environmental specialists will share their experience in wetlands and the Dillon Creek Restoration with the participants. Participants will also get the chance to explore the newly created virtual 360 tour of Dillon Creek that will let you explore the “Before” and “After” the restoration project!
The first day will be getting everyone up to speed on wetlands, so covering the basics like: what makes a wetland, wetland losses & values, classification, wetland restoration and monitoring.
The second day will have several guest speakers from the Dillon Creek Project, including
- Miranda Cross, the Dillon Creek Project Manager
- Tamara McPhail, the Lands Manager & Executive Director of Linnaea Farm
- Dusty Silvester, the Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) for the Dillon Creek Project
- Autumn Barrett-Morgan, the Monitoring Technician for the Dillon Creek Project
