CCEDA - Kate
The Cortes Community Economic Development Association is very pleased to invite the public to visit and use this outdoor space, which is now cleaned up with plenty of allowance for physical-distancing. Located adjacent to the Manson’s Community Hall, this space can be accessed using a trail closest to the hall's playground, and from the old logging road between the skateboard park and the fire hall.

This public space includes:

- A new trail connecting it with Manson’s Hall property (closest to the hall’s playground)

- Beautiful new tables and benches constructed by local carpenter Travis Pawlak using reclaimed wood

- South-facing meadow surrounded by natural beauty (bring your sun hat)

- A portable toilet for public use

CCEDA requests that garbage is packed out, and that there are no fires, vehicles, or camping on this land. Please also respect the privacy of neighbouring residents.

We are very thankful to the Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program (CERIP) which funded this project. This fund was developed by the Government of British Columbia to help communities in British Columbia recover from the economic impacts experienced from COVID-19.

Up next for the Village Commons is the first community consultation in late September (to be announced) where the public can give input on how this commercially zoned area could best serve the community. This engagement will include First Nation consultation and land acknowledgement, and plenty of opportunity for YOU to share your ideas.

Please stay tuned for more on the Village Commons! If you have any questions about this project, please contact Kate at project.mgr.ccedagmail.com, or at 0242.
