Walking up the road access path between the skatepark and firehall we came upon a cut down wild cherry tree, left strewn about. It was a small tree, maybe 15 ft high. And it was the only tree for a stretch along the chain-link fence. Why was it cut? Why not just prune it? And if there was some valid reason, why not salvage and honour its goodness? And why not consider the added fire hazard of leaving it all lying about, stretching out into the roadway?
