FOCI - Autumn
Hello Community Members!

The Dillon Creek Wetland Restoration Project, a partnership project between Friends of Cortes Island Society (FOCI) and Linnaea Farm Society (LFS), is underway! The wetland construction date is drawing near!

One of the most important aspects of an ecological restoration project is Invasive Species Management and we have one last big removal work bee to do before the beginning of construction in August!

We are hereby inviting our community to join us in the Invasive Species removal this coming Wednesday July 28th from 2 to 4pm. We will be targetting Himalayan blackberry and thistle, so don't forget your gloves!

Please bring your own gloves, pruners, digging forks and a wheelbarrow if you have them! As well as your own water, snacks, hat, and mask in case it's necessary.

Hand sanitizer and a first aid kit will be on site!

This event is outside and we will be socially distancing.

Please do not attend this event if you are feelings any symptoms (sore throat, fever, headache, chills, difficulty breathing, etc).

If you're able to join us, please RSVP by email at: Autumn.focigmail.com for more instructions!

Thanks, folx!

This project would not be possible without the generous financial and in-kind support of local individuals, organizations, and the Government of Canada.
