Join us for a fascinating hands-on low tide exploration of Manson’s Lagoon with marine biologist Deb Cowper and Cortes Island Museum General Manager Jane Newman.

You will discover how First Nations used the lagoon, search for marine life, and learn about local geology and history.

SATURDAY, JULY 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where to meet: Meet in Mansons Landing Provincial Park parking lot. Please be prompt as this activity is dependent on the tide.

What to wear: This activity will include walking on wet and uneven ground with sharp shells and requires suitable footwear such as gumboots (best option) or water shoes. NO BARE FEET!

What to bring: You may like to bring a walking stick – oysters & gravel are uneven to walk on and water currents may be challenging.
A hat, sunscreen and a drink are also advisable.

Payment: Event is free, donations gratefully appreciated.

To register:
Call the Museum at 250-935-6340 or email cimastwincomm.ca

NO DOGS – please leave your dog at home.

This event is sponsored by Cortes Island Museum ( www.cortesmuseum.com ) and Friends of Cortes Island (www.friendsofcortes.org ).
