Not all of us islanders want to remain a third world country with respect to wireless services across Cortes Island. For years people asked for improved services , as it is also a matter of safety. Below is the letter I submitted to the public consultation process on May 25, 2021 via email to Brian Gregg

Hello Mr. Gregg
We want to express our strong support for the erection of Cell towers by Telus on Cortes Island.
We are a senior couple living in Squirrel Cove with numerous of our friends living in the Whaletown area and Mansons Landing. Having cell coverage across Cortes Island will be a significant safety improvement. Currently, when driving across the island in the dark, when there is no other traffic, there is no possibility to call for help if needed.
We do have cell coverage where we live from the tower on Malaspina, which provides us with 4G LTE with 1 bar. We do hope that a cell tower for the Squirrel Cove area will improve this service.

Best regards.
