GUIDED GROUP FOREST THERAPY WALK
Sunday, June 6th
2:00-5:00pm
Join us for this slow, quiet, and meditative guided forest therapy experience with certified Forest Therapy Guide, Sobhana Dilani Hippola.
Forest Therapy is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments. Forest Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, which translates to “forest bathing.” Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition. We build on those benefits and look beyond, to what happens when people remember that we are a part of nature, not separate from it, and are related to all other beings in fundamental ways. (Association of Nature & Forest Therapy)
COVID-19 Protocols: We will be modifying the standard walk format to accommodate standard COVID-19 protocols. To facilitate physical distancing on the walk, we have limited the group number to a maximum of 6 people including the guide. Please do not attend this event if you have been in contact with anyone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19, or if you are displaying any symptoms yourself (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, muscle aches or headaches).
At this time we are only able to accept particpants from within our health region. Children must be 12 and over.
Booking is essential. Please register via email at friendsofcortesgmail.com no later than noon on Friday June 4th.
