Amy O Robertson
On behalf of the board of the CNFC, I want to thank Eric for his 9 years of steering the ship into smooth waters! Eric has done an amazing job in his role of General Manager, and his inclusive approach of staff in decsion making has eased this period of transition as we head into summer. With existing supervisors taking on more leadership roles and responsibilities, we have a grace period for filling his shoes. Having said that, we would like to get the search underway.
Below is the job posting that the board has put together. Tidelines is it's first public debut, and we will be casting the net further afield soon.
Eric and his family will be missed by both the Coop and the Cortes community. Stay tuned for the offical good bye party later in June when we can hopefully gather safely outside for an appropriate send off!

The Opposrtunity-

The Cortes Natural Food Co-op is searching for its next leader – a General Manager who can sustain our local hub with nourishing food and vibrant people. The CNFC’s General Manager is responsible for managing the operations for the store, deli, and bakery; managing financial and administrative activities; hiring, firing, and supporting staff; and leading the marketing and membership programs. Salary and benefits are based upon experience and qualifications.

About CNFC and Cortes Island-

The CNFC consists of a grocery store, deli, and bakery and achieved $2.3M in sales last year. We are passionate about bringing locally grown, organic, sustainably produced, and healthy food to our island community of 1,000 people. Cortes Island is a stunning destination for residents and tourists alike, featuring beautiful lakes, deep forests, and miles of coastline to explore, including sandy beaches. Cortes is situated at the northern end of the Salish Sea (Strait of Georgia) between Vancouver Island and the British Columbia mainland.

If you feel your values are aligned and you have what it takes to succeed in this position, please send your cover letter, resume, and two professional references to Amy Robertson, Board Chair, at gmsearchcortescoop.ca.
