An update on a long-standing issue regarding an electrical box located at Whaletown terminal. We’ve had complaints on a humming/buzzing noise by some people living near the terminal since it was installed.

Our terminal maintenance folks ensured everything was in working order, and the box seemed to be emitting minimal noise. However, recognizing the recurrence of the complaints,
They recently performed audio metric testing of the equipment in use and found it to be below legal levels.

Nevertheless, to aim to do something to improve the situation, they now have recently built a sound -roofing enclosure around the equipment to drastically reduce the noise. This enclosure is complete and hopefully has eliminated the issue. Here are some images shared with me.

I think this is a great and positive measure by our teams. I had personally received emails from at least one resident, so I’m also going to search my inbox to find this person and share this update with them.
