Dear Neighbours,

As the vaccine roll out speeds up, we are starting to imagine the light at the end of the tunnel of this pandemic, but as the last few weeks have shown we are not through this yet. Yesterday afternoon the BC Provincial Government announced that non-essential travel restrictions would continue in an effort to contain the spread of the new Covid-19 variants.

We have made the decision to postpone our 2021 opening from May 16th to June 25th. This decision was made with the intention to keep our island community, staff, and guests safe. Anytime over the last year where we have had to postpone/cancel our season it has been gut-wrenching as we are so keen to welcome back our seasonal Cortes staff, work with our amazing partners, and host guests on the land.

Our small, spring staff team (including Dolly, Ayton, Darcy, Tommaso, Tec, Elizabeth, Sabrina, Holly, Gem, Dana, Arron and Fiona) welcome you to visit our garden, trails, and lodge deck. If you would like to gather with a small outdoor group, please get in touch. We would love to share this space with other Cortes organizations.

Please do what you can to stay safe and still connected. Follow the Provincial Health Office guidelines, get your vaccination when available, and stay close to people you love.

With love,
