**Important update*******Thank you everyone who has reached out to me about the heat pump rebates and has given me clarification on the program. I reached out to Clean BC for more details and unfortunately, the double rebates and group rebates on heat pumps are not available for wood heated homes.
However, there's good news. There are still base rebates for the central and mini-split heat pumps available for wood heated homes and they do not expire! Yay, so there's time! (Besides the ticking time bomb called the climate crisis that's breathing down our necks)
During this process I've learned that one of the major issues facing our island is the lack of an HVAC technician on island and the extreme difficulty of getting one to come over from the city.
Thankfully, I have more good news on this front. Aerotherm HVAC Solutions will be coming to Cortes Island
this Saturday, March 27th to do estimates on maintenance and installations, so if you're interested you can contact them (asap) at mariaaerotherm.ca to book your time (just give them your home address and contact info).
Thanks everyone and take care :)
Dear neighbours,
Are you concerned about your indoor air quality and want to invest in a sustainable home heating strategy that helps mitigate the climate crisis while improving your family's health?
The provincial government is currently offering double rebates on electric heat pumps as part of their CleanBC initiative and COVID economic recovery strategy. So if you're ready to make the investment in your home you can take advantage of the rebates at the link posted below.
But hurry, the Covid recovery double rebates require registration before March 31st and the installation needs to take place before June 30th to receive any rebate!
There are also group rebates available for those who want to work together to get multiple homes done at once. If you're interested in doing that, please send me an email and I'll compile a group to work together on this.
Thanks and take care friends. The end of this pandemic is hopefully in sight now!
