There is still time to fill in the survey!
In December of 2020, Greenways Land Trust launched the Strathcona Good Food Box Program. This is a food security program that aims to make fresh and healthy produce accessible both physically and financially to those in remote communities. This program has already launched in 5 Northern Vancouver Island areas, and this survey is being distributed to gauge interest on Cortes.

So what is a good food box? This is a bulk buying program—fresh produce is purchased in bulk, delivered to the community, and repackaged into individual boxes by volunteers. Boxes are pre-ordered by individuals and then picked up locally. Because this system eliminates most middlemen, the produce is significantly cheaper than average city grocery store pricing. This also has the potential to eliminate the cost of having to get to town to get fresh produce.

Would you like to see this program on Cortes? Please take a few minutes to fill out the attached survey.
