CALLING ALL CORTES ISLAND BEEKEEPERS

The Cortes Island Museum & Archives is creating a new exhibit, Listening to Bees, with an opening planned for May 20, 2021, World Bee Day.

The exhibit will focus on the challenges facing both wild and domestic bees worldwide and what we on Cortes Island can do to support and protect these important pollinators. We want to learn to listen to bees, and we need your help.

WE ARE INVITING ANY PAST AND PRESENT BEEKEEPERS TO JOIN OUR DISCUSSION (Zoom) about your experiences of beekeeping here. What challenges do you and your bees face? What successes can you share?

We are hoping to borrow new and older items used by beekeepers over the years, to augment the exhibit. Items such as a smoker, bee suit, bee frames, images and video/audio recordings would be most useful.

PLEASE JOIN OUR DISCUSSION?
