OUR CALENDAR FOR JANUARY 2021

Unfortunately, not much in our calendar for January 2021. Things may change depending on COVID-19 situation. We will keep you posted.

Walking Group

The walking group meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 a.m., Manson's Hall parking lot, for 30-min to one-hour walk, followed by coffee in the outside seating of the Co-op café. All – following COVID-19 restrictions.

Mansons Hall Activities

Carpet bowling, jazzercise, chess, luncheons – on hold until allowed again by our Provincial Health Officer.

Luncheons

Group lunches are still on hold. We will keep you posted by email about take-out lunches.

Literary Afternoon

Literary Afternoon is planned for Sunday, January 24, 2021, pending COVID-19 restrictions. Let’s hope we can listen to Yvonne Kipp, Dayna Davis, Norm Gibbons, Annie Rosenberg, and Brian Hayden reading from their own work at 2 p.m., Manson’s Hall.

Cortes Island Museum

• Main Gallery, 957 Beasley Road, Friday and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. (closed Jan. 1 and 2)
• Wild Cortes at Linnaea Education Centre is now temporarily closed due to recent COVID-19 restrictions.

He was really the founder of Seniors Helping Seniors, back in 2003, and possibly also the founder of CISBS, which is the old name for Cortes Island Seniors Society. CISBS stood for Cortes Island Seniors Building Society before it was changed to CISS, so you can see that Ralph was part of the original vision of building houses for seniors. ... Carina Verhoeve is the coordinator for Seniors Helping Seniors. She may be contacted Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 250-935-6793. Please respect Carina's days and hours when calling unless it is an emergency. Contact Carina about seniors' lunches, seniors' meals, masks, and more.

MEMBERSHIP

Have up updated your membership? The more members we have, the more we can do to help our neighbours on Cortes, and the better impression we can make when we approach governments over concerns or apply for housing or other grants.
