We are so grateful to announce that four seniors will have a new affordable rental home this Christmas. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you -- we were able to expand the Cortes Island Seniors Village.

As the holidays approach, we remember last year asking local artists and writers the question: what is home? Then we compiled their answers into a beautifully designed book called HOME: A Cortes Community Anthology.

This book arose as a way of adding a deeply personal spark to the bricks and mortar that will, in time, comprise more community housing on Rainbow Ridge. It is an offering of love and a testament to the doggedness, innovation, community participation and spirit that enables dreams to come true.

And, here’s the best part: 100% of profits from the book goes toward building more community centered, non-profit housing on Cortes Island!

Featuring essays, poetry, fiction, memoir & visual art by 18 writers and artists who call Cortes Island home; this book makes a great Christmas gift. Support local island book & gift stores by picking up extra copies at the Cortes Natural Food Co-op, Museum, Gorge Harbour Marina, Squirrel Cove Store and Marnie’s Books.

Books can also easily be ordered online and shipped to individual family members around the world, from your home, to their home, and back again in support of Cortes Community Housing.

In gratitude,
Sandra Wood, on behalf of the
Cortes Community Housing Society
