Today is Giving Tuesday! With the help of your generosity, we can raise the $2,000 we need to keep the Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island Society working – to keep our children learning, stewarding, playing, and connecting with the beautiful ecosystems we call the Children’s Forest.

Every donation made today makes our vision possible – to nurture relationships between children and nature and to inspire advocacy for the natural world. In spite of this year’s pandemic, we held a MycoBlitz with youth mentors, families, and adults that identified 63 species of macrofungi in just two days; this is an incredible addition to the species inventories from past BioBlitzes in the Children’s Forest. We’ve also continued to hold our monthly walks and our discussions with the land owners have been ongoing and significant.

Without your support, we cannot continue our important work. Our usual fundraising activities this year have been substantially reduced. Although our organization relies primarily on the generosity of volunteers and the spirit of collaboration, we need funds to carry on.

What's more – FOR TODAY ONLY – donate $20 or more this #GivingTuesday and we’ll get an additional $2 donation from CanadaHelps*.

Give here.

Imagine . . . a forest entrusted to the children.

As always, we thank you – our community – for your continuing support and generosity.

With sincere gratitude,

Eric Hargrave on behalf of the FTCCIS Board
