Paul Hemingway July 26, 1964 - October 16, 2020

It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my dear friend, Paul Hemingway.
Paul was born and raised in Comox. In 1999, he moved his wife, Kelly and sons Miles and Martin to Cortes Island where he was working. Paul made many improvements to Cortes during his stay here. Paul and Kelly started the Market Take-out (now Papa’s) and built the addition to the Cortes Market He also built and remodelled many quality homes on Cortes. He was also a volunteer firefighter on Cortes and showed up occasionally to fires on his dune buggy. Paul was known for his humour and practical jokes.
Paul’s other passions included carpentry, motorcycles, farming, Lucky’s and last but not least the love of his life, Kim and his family.
In 2019 Paul was diagnosed with ALS and spent the rest of his life on his farm in Dove Creek being cared for by Kim and surrounded by friends and family.
He has left to mourn his partner Kim Forman, his sons, Miles and Martin, his step-children Simon and Maxine. Miles also gave him two precious grandchildren, Hunter and Georgia. He did not make it to see his new namesake grandson due in February to Martin and partner, Cara. He also left behind his parents, Brian and June, and two brothers, Alan and Neil, and two sisters, Marie McCooley and Toni Trettinario.
