Right now, it is important to realize that we are the anchors that our children need, and that we have the power to set the tone within our homes. If there ever was an opportunity for connection and "reset” this is it! We are being stretched to grow in ways that might not have seemed possible before, and we can do it for our kids!
Resilience is built when we can feel our feelings of disappointment, frustration or whatever might arise – allow our sadness and receive comfort within trusted relationships. This signals to our brain that we have the inner strength to get to the other side. We can’t change what is happening right now, but we can use this challenge to build resilience in our children and ourselves. We are the key to our children’s resilience through hardship.
These sessions will give us a place to connect and to receive resources from the Neufeld Institute, which is supporting families in a big way right now. The Neufeld Institute provides a framework for understanding and working with challenging behaviors and seeing the big picture of relationship and child development in raising children.
