Louise Solomon died on March 7th 2020 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver at the age of 58. Louise first came to Cortes when she was 18 years old and although she lived many other places for periods of time, she always felt Cortes was her true home.
Louise leaves behind, her 91 year parents, Grant and Eleanor, her brother Bruce and sisters Maureen and Donna Bracewell, as well as her many nieces and nephews and godchildren who have been blessed to grow up with her love and guidance. She will be greatly missed by so many loving friends on Cortes, in Vancouver, Nashville, New York, Colorado and Sonoma. We all are mourning the loss of our deeply loved family member and friend.
Diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in October 2019, the news was devastating for all of us who loved her and especially for her partner, Nancy, who loved and cared for her and was with her as she passed. Louise died on the couple’s 22nd year anniversary.
We will remember Louise for her quiet strength, her lovely singing voice, her infectious laugh and her ever-present grace and courage. A Memorial will announced at some point when the world returns to a more balanced place.
