Submitting your Quotation:

Submit quotations via email tenderskineticconstruction.com or via fax (250) 871-8812.

We request that you submit your quote two hours prior to the tender closing, as we require time to compile the general tender. Quotations must remain valid for a period of Sixty (60) days after the general tender close.

To work under a CCA1 Subcontract with Kinetic Construction and BC Housing all trades must have General Liability Insurance with a minimum limit of liability of $2,000,000, and must be active and in good standing with WorkSafe BC. Under the CCA1 subcontract, progress claims are made at the end of each month and are paid at the end of the following month. All invoices are subject to a 10% lien holdback as required by the Builders Lien Act. Lien Holdbacks are released 55 days after substantial completion per the Lien Act.

Kinetic reserves the right to accept or reject any quotation and to request references for any bidder.

Refer to the Supplemental Specifications and Scope of Work for additional requirements and clarifications. The Supplemental Specifications and Scope of Work are to be read into and form a part of the Drawings and Specifications and Tender Documents for the project and the whole shall constitute part of the Contract Documents.

All requirements indicated on the drawings, specifications and addenda are to be included as part of the Work; however, the General and Supplementary Conditions and Scope of Work may include additional requirements over and above those of the drawings and specifications. Review all sections of the specifications to determine the requirement for submittals such as shop drawings, samples, mockups and engineered drawings. All requirements contained within the tender documents are to be included in the bid. No claims for extras will be accepted unless exclusions are clearly and specifically identified in the Contractor’s bid. The Bidder is to report any discrepancies prior to submitting the bid.

2) SEEKING HOURLY FEILD OPERATIVES FOR THE FOLLOWING TRADES:

1) CSO-OFA Level 1/Skilled Labourer
2) Ticketed Carpenters/Carpenters

We anticipate that work will commence in May 2020 for completion in December 2020.

Rates of pay will be based on skills, experience and our Collective Agreement.

CSO-OFA Level 1/Skilled Labourer

We are looking for an OFA Level 1 or Level 2 with CSO and/or applicable safety training who will also work on site on the tools as a skilled labourer.

This position requires working on construction project sites assisting the Superintendent and Skilled Tradespersons while also performing labouring activities and fulfilling First Aid and Safety requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Labouring duties include performing tasks involved in:

-The physical labour of building a project
-Operating hand and power tools of a large variety as necessary
-Site preparation and clean-up
-First Aid/Safety responsibilities include:

-Daily safety site inspections
-Weekly/monthly reporting
-Providing site safety orientations for all visitors to site
-Attending to any injuries on site and providing appropriate treatment
-Reporting any injuries, near misses or hazards on site

Qualifications and Skills

Our ideal candidate has the following skills and experience to bring to our team:

-3 years’ experience on construction sites
-Familiarity with building construction processes and using a variety of hand and power tools
-Current OFA1 or OFA2 Certification
-Strong organizational skills
-Clear written and verbal communication skills
-Positive, can-do attitude
-Natural willingness to pitch in and do what’s needed to help get the job done
-Physical capability to safely perform the work on site (i.e., lifting, carrying, standing, walking, kneeling, etc)
-Ticketed Carpenters/Carpenters

Working collaboratively with the Site team, our Carpenters are responsible for:

-Working safely on site at all times and promoting safe work practices
-Following the direction of the Site Superintendent and Foreman to ensure work is completed effectively and efficiently
-Contributing to building quality projects on time and on schedule

Successful candidates will have:

-Minimum 5 years’ construction experience on a variety of projects including specifically working on commercial and institutional sites
-Red Seal Carpenter’s ticket, be actively engaged in
Carpentry Apprentice program, or interest in apprenticeship (all levels of Carpentry experience welcome)
- Ability to work within a collaborative team atmosphere
- Excellent Blueprint reading skills and the ability to work in both Metric and Imperial concrete formwork and framing
- Clear verbal and written communication skills

Labourers:
