The traditional Whaletown Halloween Party (a Whaletown Community Club event) was a great one this year. It was a fine night - no rain or wind to spoil our fireworks - and a fine turnout. The bonfire was good and hot, as was the apple cider! Many thanks to all the friends and neighbours who came out (and dressed up) for the occasion.
Some more thank-yous: Doug Hamel, thanks for the firewood. The tireless Team Awesome (Noah and Izabelle), plus Shiva and Jennifer, did the big job of setting up and breaking down the spooky "set" for the event: great work, and much thanks.
Thank you Gorge Harbour Marina, for creatively carved pumpkins. Thank you Cortes Fire Fighters, as always, for safely setting off the big bangs and bright lights. This year's baked treats were especially fancy, so huge thanks to all our skilled bakers who contributed generously of their time and ingredients.
And speaking of contributing generously: WCC collects donations at the party, which go into our events fund (for next year's fireworks party among other projects). If you didn't bring any cash to the event but would like to support next year's loud and sparkly fun in the graveyard, you can donate by mailing a cheque to PO Box 54, Whaletown, or by an Interac e-transfer to the WCC treasurer at treasurer.whaletowngmail.com. Just mention in your email or write on your cheque that the donation is for the Halloween party.
