The Cortes Island Foundation has been established to support local non-profits. We want to both hear from Cortes organisations about the work they are doing and also create a space for them to share this with each other.

On Saturday, September 28th, we have invited representatives from all Cortes organizations to a very special day-long Social Profit Forum at Linnaea. We also invite everyone to come at the end of the day to hear highlights of our discussion. Please join us!

The Cortes Island Foundation’s mission is to facilitate strategic gifting in support of community needs and priority projects. We hold a vision of a thriving community that fosters a culture of giving now and for all time in respectful relationship with our natural home. We intend to access gifting at a scale yet inaccessible to most island organisations by seeking large bequests and endowments. Our first move as an organization was to provide the vision and fundraising strength behind making the Manson’s community housing project a reality. Our second move is to host this gathering.

The Foundation’s ability to inspire large-scale gifting requires us to show donors an island-wide vision of Cortes initiatives. This Forum aims to become an annual event because we are stronger and more effective together.
