On General Voting Day – Saturday October 26, 2019, Electoral Area B (Cortes Island) electors will be voting on:

Bylaw No. 341 – Community Hall Service Initiative
If adopted, Bylaw No. 341 would authorize the SRD to annually requisition not more than $80,000 (or $0.2405 per 1,000 of property assessment) through taxation of real property within Electoral Area B (Cortes Island) for the purpose of providing financial assistance to the Whaletown Community Club and the Southern Cortes Community Association for specified operational costs at the Whaletown Community Hall and the Mansons Landing Community Hall.*

This bylaw may be examined in its entirety online at or in person at the SRD office.

General Voting Day
Saturday, October 26, 2019 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Mansons Community Hall, 983 Beasley Road, Cortes Island
Gorge Hall, 1375 Robertson Road, Cortes Island
Strathcona Regional District office, 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River
Qualified electors may vote at the polling location of their choice.

Having 2 different days ensures a reduced voter turnout,,, better chance of getting their intended results AND
all the more reason to get out and vote twice!

Is this not being done in conjunction with the federal election on Monday, October 21st?
This seems odd.
