4 Swimmers completed an amazing journey this August swimming around Marina Island. Tosh Harvey, Carrie Saxifrages, Andrew Smyth and Mark Braaten, swam with support from Ryan and Lovena Harvey, Barry Saxifrages, Christine Robinson and Madhurima Braaten.
Our Route took us over expansive shallows teeming with beautiful sea life. We were followed much of the way by welcoming communities of seals and loons. Tidal currents waved in the kelp and eel grass below. Schools of shining fish surrounded us. Old growth trees watched from the shorelines of pristine beaches. So much to learn and such a privilege to commune with nature in this special way! Gratitude for this precious land and to the peoples who care for it.
We hope to carry on the tradition of the "Big Swim" in years to come. Let us know if you are interested.
