CORTES ISLAND, B.C. — Fibre expansion on Cortes Island is gaining momentum once
again. Today, 205 households are connected to CityWest's fibre network, with 1,024 homes
eligible for service as construction continues across the island. Over the coming months,
residents can expect to see crews working in additional neighbourhoods as CityWest
advances its commitment to bringing reliable, high-speed internet access to the
community.

As construction advances through Whaletown, Manson's Landing and the Klahoose area,
more households are gaining access to the reliable, high-speed connectivity that has
become essential for modern life on the island.

The expansion helps support local economic activity and creating new opportunities for
entrepreneurs, home-based businesses.

"We know that some residents have been waiting a long time for updates and progress,"
said Stefan Woloszyn, chief executive officer of CityWest. " The return to Cortes Island is
part of CityWest's broader investment in rural and coastal communities throughout British
Columbia, where access to reliable broadband infrastructure is increasingly essential for
economic development and quality of life."

For CityWest, the return to Cortes Island represents more than a construction project. It
marks a renewed commitment to a community that has long advocated for better

connectivity and a recognition that building trust requires both communication and follow-
through.

As crews return to the island, the company's message is simple: the work is moving
forward, construction is underway, and CityWest is committed to seeing the project
through.
