Evocative Portraits of the Salish Sea
Comment by Sandra Wood on 18th August 2019
Oh My Goodness Annie,
I have enjoyed your graphic designs over many years and I believe that one of my favorite jewelry pendants is one that you created a decade ago – but nothing prepared me for the powerful images that you evoked of the sky & the sea viewed from Cortes Island to the horizon.

From the delicate pastel pink sunrises, to the powerful techno-coloured sunsets over turquoise waters, to the stormy churning surf erupted by sunbeams – you captured the personality, the clouds, the sunbursts, and the glory of living beside the Salish Sea.

Thank you for capturing the glistening magic of the light and the rarified atmosphere of our island home in your paintings.

In deep respect for your evolving “Evanescent” art form and the magic you framed in your evocative portraits of the sea. I was so moved by the luminous beauty that you framed with your vision.

With reverence and gratitude for your artistry ~ Sandra Wood

Annie,

I just saw Richard's photos and article and as usual it was fun to see his take on things....I have to say that it looks like a wonderful show....I really enjoyed what I could see of them..(thank you, Richard!).

This is one of the things I LOVE about Cortes..Artists and Art Makers and Art Changers.....Annie, you've been making art there for decades...and I've been the happy recipient of everything from Jewelry to T Shirts...(as well as some of my relatives) and now you're morphed into this new side of work. WHAT fun! Thanks for sharing!
