Friday and Saturday, August 23/24 – Blind Channel cruise with Misty Isles.

Cap off the summer with a cruise through the heart of the Discovery Islands in a circle tour that winds through this dense archipelago, famous for its racing tides and marine life. The Cortes Island Museum is the host for this two-day cruise aboard motor/sailing vessel Misty Isles.

These cold, rich waters are frequented by whales, dolphin and porpoise and there are scattered historical sites too. Your skipper will share stories about marine life, Indigenous villages, the age of European exploration, and the settlers who followed to brave life on this rugged seacoast.

The return trip hugs the mountainous shores of the mainland, to pass through famous Dent and Arran Rapids, where Spanish explorers of the late 18th century nearly lost their ships to boiling whirlpools off the mouth of Bute Inlet.

Dinner and overnight accommodation are provided by Blind Channel Resort on West Thurlow Island, accessible by water only and famous among yachters for their seafood menu. This family-run business was built upon the remains of a once-thriving cannery and sawmill, which left colourful beach finds as the source for mosaic art pieces found throughout the resort.

The departure and return point for this tour is Cortes Island, with connections timed for the Quadra Island ferry. For details about this trip check the Cortes Island Museum at https://cortesmuseum.com/special-events/misty-isles
. To register call Misty Isles Adventures at 250-935-6756 or email mistyislesadventuresgmail.com.

The cost for the cruise, meals while cruising and accommodation, is $380 per person for couples or $410 per person/single occupancy, plus GST. Dinner at the lodge is extra.

Register early to avoid disappointment.

Desolation Sound on Saturday, September 14, will be our last cruise of the summer. Register early for this most popular cruise.

Two of August cruises, Desolation Sound/August 2 and Cassel Lake/August 18, are already fully booked. But call Misty Isles Adventures to get on the waiting list or another cruise.
