I'm looking for some adventurous souls to sign up for the Nail Sail Bail competition at Cortes Day this year. In the competition, teams of two are given supplies such as plywood, nails, and duct tape, and are challenged to build the best boat they can in two hours. Then, the teams all compete against each other in an ocean race around a buoy course to see who has built the most seaworthy vessel!
The winning team gets their name on the prized Nail Sail Bail trophy, and each team will walk away with a special prize of some sort.
We currently have space for four teams to sign up. Please email mansonshallgmail.com with the full names of your two team members as well as your team title. No experience is necessary, though we do ask that kids under 12 be teamed up with an adult. The registration fee is thirty dollars, payable in advance at the hall office or down at Smelt Bay on the day of.
Spread the word, and help us make this endlessly entertaining island tradition come to life! Call Alma at 935-0235 if you have any questions.
See you down at Smelt Bay this Saturday!
